Logo NATENATE-certified technicians have demonstrated their knowledge of today’s increasingly sophisticated heating and cooling systems by passing a nationally recognized test developed and supported by all segments of the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning industry. At We Care Heating and Air, we are NATE certified, so you can always expect excellence and quality service.

Prices may vary over time, please call (478) 218-CARE for current freon prices. Unfortunately there is no way to know how much your system will need. Even when you put your gauges on the equipment there is no way to tell. PSI has no relation to pounds, but we can make a good estimate off of the PSI. At We Care we use scales to actually show the homeowner (to the ounce) how much was added to the system.

We Care Heating and Air offers a complete line of heat pumps, which can both heat and cool your home. They range from 10.0 to 17.90 SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio), a measure of cooling efficiency for air conditioners and heat pumps. The higher the SEER number, the more efficient the heat pump system is. We offer a full range of heat pumps with various SEER ratings and price points that will provide efficient, year round comfort for you and your family.

Getting your air conditioning and heating system checked annually ensures that it is in perfect working order before the season starts. Bi-annual checkups are highly recommended to ensure your air conditioner is working BEFORE the start of the hot summer season and your heater is working BEFORE cold winter days arrive. During the course of the year, your air conditioning system produces water which drains through drain pipes. These drain pipes could clog up with water backing up. The coils in your system can get dirty or even rusty. Insulation and seals around the ducts could leak.. There are so many reason why your system might malfunction. We will check for any abnormalities and correct them as needed to get you cold air in the summer and warm air in the winter. Our maintenance plans are $99 for annual checkups and $139 for bi-annual checkups.

If your system is not cooling or heating right, turn off the unit until we arrive. Often times, the coil has ice build-up inside the unit. Turning off the unit, allowing for your system to regenerate, rest, and de-frost, will save you time and get your unit back into working condition much faster.

Even state-of-the-art climate control solutions may experience temporary failures in case they have been operating for a significant amount of time. The cooling system may freeze, resulting in a pile of ice on the coil. At the same time, the heating system could overheat when exposed to constant pressure. The wisest possible decision is to turn the HVAC unit off, thereby allowing the system to rest and regenerate.

At We Care Heating and Air, we do not charge overtime rates between 8AM – 8PM. If your system breaks down or does not cool/heat right, please give us a call immediately or chat with our technicians so we can schedule a repair the same day.

Unfortunately, there’s no simple rule of thumb for determining the ideal size of system for each home. For example, depending upon the construction of your home, one (1) ton of air conditioning can cool anywhere from 300 to 800 square feet of home. The only way to insure the size of the system you purchase will be large enough to heat or cool your home, but not any larger than you need, is to have your home’s individual heating and cooling needs evaluated by a licensed professional. At We Care Heating and Air, we will perform a free in-home energy analysis to determine a selection of systems that will work best for your home’s needs and your budget.

Heating and cooling systems sizing is based on B.T.U.H. (British Thermal Units Per Hour). Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps are also rated in tonnage. 12,000 BTUH equals one (1) ton. Residential systems can range from 1 to 5 tons.

Most maintenance should be performed only by a qualified service technician. But here are some things that you can do to assure optimal performance:

  • Keep ground mounted outdoor units clear of debris, clutter and weeds; they can reduce the airflow to the unit
  • Use caution with weed trimmers around the unit to prevent damaging control wiring
  • Keep pets away from the unit; pet urine can cause expensive damage
  • Change air filters monthly; if they look dirty, replace them earlier

In general, We Care Heating and Air recommends that you replace your disposable filters at least once a month. If you have washable filters, they should be cleaned once a month. Your We Care service technician will recommend a replacement schedule that delivers the optimum efficiency and filtration for your specific system. We recommend that you visually check filters and filtering equipment monthly. If filters look dirty, they need to be cleaned or replaced even before the month is over.
